Most commonly hunted migratory birds in Ontario
Stacker compiled a list of the most commonly hunted migratory birds in Ontario using data from a report released by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in August 2025. Duck and goose species are ranked by the estimated 2023 hunting harvest in Ontario.
In 2024 Ontario had the largest estimated harvest of all provinces for 6 migratory bird species: Canada Goose, Wood Duck, Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead, Redhead.
