50 most popular food and snack brands
From Oreos to Doritos to Reese's Pieces, food and snacks are integral to our lives. We eat them when we're headed to the movies, when we're killing time between meetings, and to fuel up between larger meals. Not all snacks are created equal—some are beloved only by a few, while others are so popular they've become a part of the cultural fabric.
However, many snacks in the latter category have recently lost popularity. In July, PepsiCo—owner of the Frito-Lay brand—reported a 2% dip in sales for the second quarter of 2026, likely due to the rise of appetite-suppressing GLP-1 medications and skyrocketing inflation.
To boost those lagging numbers, certain brands have partnered with celebrities. So far, the results have been promising. Ritz, hyped by Bad Bunny, has been a bright spot for Mondelez, growing household penetration and gaining share within the cracker category. And in June 2026, Oreo (also owned by Mondelez) made waves online for collaborating with K-pop superstars BTS to launch a limited-edition purple cookie, inspired by the Korean street food hotteok.
How these trends will impact the snack industry in the long run remains to be seen. For now, Stacker analyzed data from research and analytics firm YouGov to rank the 50 most popular food and snack brands in the United States as of the third quarter of 2024. Brands were ranked based on YouGov's overall positive opinion score, which measures the percentage of positive responses among those surveyed. Scores are also broken down by generation. Some brands appear more than once on this list because YouGov may break the brand down by specific snacks, such as Honey Nut Cheerios or Hershey's Kisses. Parent companies that don't refer to a particular snack or food, like Nabisco or Frito-Lay, were excluded.
