The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported April 15 that Wyoming has some of the most vaccine-hesitant counties in the country. Up to 32% of residents in 11 different counties say they’re hesitant about getting vaccinated. Most counties across the country are closer to 8% hesitant.

Utah is another state with a strong urban-rural divide in vaccine hesitancy, with Salt Lake City and surrounding areas demonstrating a greater willingness to get the vaccine. One surprising outlier is Grand County in east-central Utah, which despite a relatively high hesitancy rate, has been “going bonkers for vaccines,” Bradon Bradford, director of the Southeast Utah Health Department, told the Salt Lake City Tribune.

Double JJ Resort in Rothbury is offering a similar program.

Although the CDC recommends 21 days between Pfizer doses and 28 days for Moderna, up to 42 days is “permissible”—so it’s likely not too late for many Ohioans to schedule that second shot.

If Minnesota could keep its current vaccination rate going, it’d hit its target of vaccinating 80% of adults by June. That might be tricky to accomplish, though, since the most eager residents have mostly been vaccinated, while the more hesitant remain.

Pennsylvania officials have been re-allocating vaccination supplies to try and reach more people, though some think their efforts have been counter-productive, reducing supply where it’s needed most. Still, Pennsylvania has done a relatively good job getting nearly 8 million residents vaccinated.

Unlike other states scaling back due to reduced demand, Rhode Island is actually adding appointments, Gov. Dan McKee announced April 15. A few days later, 1,400 people of color received false appointment cancellation notices; state police are now investigating the reported “glitch” in the system.

Though demand may be waning, overall levels remain high compared to elsewhere in the country, so officials are working to make it easier for people to get their shots.
