Yes, the 1950s birthed some of the most iconic comedies in TV history—"I Love Lucy," "The Honeymooners," "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet," and "Leave It to Beaver." But those sitcoms—a portmanteau for situational comedy—walked so that the 1960s could run with the new genre.
