Company Updates

New Updates, New Partners, Same Editorial Standards

Stacker’s 2026 update: a revamped Story Hub, improved content categories, more vetted stories, and new PRN/Notified partnerships for editorial—never press releases.

Since its inception, one of Stacker’s core values has been providing news organizations with trusted editorial content at no cost. But over the last decade, the outlets that make up our network of 3,000+ publishers have undergone massive amounts of change, from industry headwinds to shifting audience habits and wavering trust.

Now, more than ever, we want to make sure that working with Stacker alleviates some of the stressors plaguing everyone in the media industry.

I know firsthand how much publishers have to juggle at once. I’ve spent the past two decades working as a reporter, editor, and content strategist, and now, I’m thrilled to be Stacker’s new Director of Publisher Partnerships. I’ve been a longtime member of the team in other capacities, but now, I have the opportunity to help newsrooms like yours get the most out of Stacker.

What to expect in 2026

Our primary focus in 2026 is to expand the newswire with even more engaging, high-quality content and to make it easier for you to find the right stories for your audience, wherever they are and with content that matches whatever they’re interested in.

We are deeply committed to investing in our publishing network in 2026, and the first step we’ve taken to do so is relaunching Story Hub, the platform publishers use to access Stacker stories.

We wanted it to be easier and faster than ever for publishers, editors, journalists, strategists, and creators to find the right stories for their audience. Stacker’s newswire has grown from publishing 100 stories per month in 2023 to more than 300 today—and we’re not slowing down.

While the notion of more stories across a wider range of topics is highly valuable for our varied partners’ needs, it can also make it challenging for publishers to find the content that’s right for them, which is why we introduced new categories and subcategories combined with updated filtering options, personalized story suggestions, and more. There are four new main categories and 30 brand-new subcategories, allowing publishers to get even more granular in finding the best content on the wire for them.

Alongside these product and workflow improvements, we’re continuing to invest in high-quality, relevant content by syndicating stories from more nonprofit organizations, like States Newsroom, and trusted sources on the most talked-about topics, like OpenSecrets, and establishing new channel partnerships.

What our recent partnerships mean for you

Recently, we also announced partnerships with PR Newswire and Notified, which are both known in the industry for distributing press releases. But they’re both expanding into new offerings: editorial stories. Stacker has teamed up with PRN to power their Feature Story Amplification platform, and we’re partnering with Notified in launching GlobeNewswire Syndicated Articles.

These stories are distinct from PRN and Notified’s press release distribution pipelines.

Through these partnerships, Stacker will syndicate editorial-grade, non-promotional stories, and our commitment to maintaining full editorial integrity remains: all articles syndicated via these partnerships must meet Stacker’s editorial standards and review process– the same standards and review process we’ve always had. We will only accept human-written, evidence-based, non-promotional bylined stories that prioritize journalistic value and whose claims are supported by credible sources and data. The line between journalism and promotion remains strong and firm for us.

With both PRN and Notified, Stacker’s editorial team serves as an added layer of quality assurance on top of the standards both companies are rolling out for the new offerings. Just as we are with any content syndicated on the Stacker newswire, our editors will be the arbiters of what can and cannot reach our publishers. Content that is too promotional or that ventures into advocacy will remain illegible for distribution.

Publishers, of course, retain the autonomy to decide which pieces from the wire work for their unique standards and audiences, and they are never required to run a particular story. It’s up to each individual news organization to determine what is and isn’t a good fit for them, and with our recent Story Hub updates, surfacing content that meets your unique standards is easier than ever.
