We are thrilled to announce six new hires at Stacker this week across the newsroom and business teams.

Stacker is building the world’s most accessible, widely distributed newswire, and as we cross 30 full-time hires as a company, we’re adding talented journalists, client strategists, and our first People hire to help us create and deliver meaningful stories to the world’s publishers while continuing to make Stacker an incredible place to work.

Elisa Huang joins Stacker as the Deputy Managing Editor for our Studio storytelling. Elisa has worked in journalism for 15+ years, including roles at Time Inc. (Real Simple), Conde Nast (Bon Appetit), GOOD Worldwide, and the University of Southern California. She brings extensive experience working with brands to produce high-impact stories, including oversight of GOOD’s sponsored content division and serving as an editorial strategist for Ben & Jerry’s, Levi’s, the Gates Foundation, and more. Elisa graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in English and Communications and has a Publishing Certificate from the Columbia School of Journalism.

Sam Larson joins us as a Data Reporter. Sam joins us from Fractl, where he was a creative strategist focusing on producing data analysis and reports to drive storytelling. Sam brings survey experience—both in terms of creating proprietary, statistically-sound surveys as well as leveraging bulk survey data from sources like Pew and the Census—along with Python, R, SQL, and Stata capabilities for advanced analysis and predictive modeling. Sam graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.G.S. in Political Psychology and Economic Sociology.

Matt Albasi joins us as a Senior Data Reporter. Matt brings 8+ years of reporting experience, most recently with Kinsa, where he produced data stories for HealthWeather.us. Before Kinsa, Matt worked in the local and investigative news space, including as the Editor and Publisher/Owner of Spirit Community Newspaper, a hyperlocal newspaper in Philadelphia. Matt graduated Temple with a B.A. in journalism and Columbia Graduate School with a M.S. in Data Journalism

Brian Budzynski joins us as a Senior Editor. For the past 15 years, Brian has served as managing editor across multiple industry magazines including Roads & Bridges, Traffic & Transit, and Alt-Meat, with coverage spanning infrastructure, sustainability, and general news reporting. Brian graduated from Illinois State University with a B.A. in English and Literature/Letters and from Roosevelt University with an M.A. in Writing.

Coleman Walsh joins us as an Account Management Lead. Coleman worked as an account executive at advertising technology software Criteo before moving into education technology. He has spent the past several years managing donor experiences at EverTrue, a fundraising software for higher education. Coleman’s client services expertise as well as his experience managing many types of customers will be an exciting addition to our account management team. Coleman graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies.

Brandon Poindexter joins Stacker as our Head of People Ops. Brandon brings 8+ years of HR experience, most recently as an HR Generalist at Teladoc, where he focused on evaluating company benefits, driving employee experience initiatives, and overseeing new hire onboarding. Moving forward, Brandon will be responsible for employee engagement and People initiatives at Stacker, while supporting recruiting and talent development across all teams. Brandon graduated from Boston College with a B.S. in Management, with a core concentration on Human Resource Management and Marketing.
