Venice Beach, 1979: cheap rent, rough edges, and a boardwalk turned outdoor roller disco after Jane Fonda and the skate crowd made it famous. The scene mixed surfers, bodybuilders from Muscle Beach, street performers, and artists drawn by studio space nobody else wanted. It was gritty and unpolished — nothing like the tourist strip it'd become.

I think it's safe to say that she's loving it.
