Most Irresistible Impulse Buys for Black Friday
Even the most stringent of budgets can be derailed by a tempting sale, and no single day of the year has better deals than Black Friday. Year after year, thousands of consumers who resolved not to get swept up in the retail holiday fervor give up their hard-earned cash to score a hefty discount. Whether it's a fire sale on HDTVs or a buy-one-get-one-free sweater deal, Black Friday offers will undoubtedly hypnotize countless consumers into making impulse buys this year.
At least there's strength in numbers: Statista conducted a survey this October and found that a surprising number of Americans admitted they'll be making their fair share of unplanned purchases this Black Friday. The survey asked 1,025 adults ages 18 and older what types of impulse buys they'll likely have on the biggest shopping day of the year, if any.
At Stacker, we set out to rank which product categories are bound to spur spontaneous purchases from least to most likely across all respondents. For each category, we've analyzed how impulse buying varies across all adult age segments, in addition to picking out hot items that could tempt the most even-keeled of shoppers.
