How Intuit QuickBooks Captured 3,920+ Earned Pickups in 5 Months While Growing AI Search Visibility With Stacker

Challenge
Intuit QuickBooks already had a mature content and distribution strategy — in-house SEO, social channels, and a paid, native-advertising platform for guaranteed placement. What the team wanted was a way to extend that reach, consistently enough to build durable authority in AI-generated answers as well as traditional search.
Results
Since expanding its content distribution through Stacker in April 2026, QuickBooks has published 17 stories, generating 3,920+ pickups and an estimated 272,700 views. Within its GEO-tracked content, the program has averaged a 223% citation lift and a 55.9% share of voice against its tracked competitive set. The results helped make the case for an expanded Stacker program, this time for the Intuit Business Credit Card.
Story Example
"With how rapidly GEO is evolving, we wanted multiple levers to pull — bringing on Stacker is making a bigger impact than anticipated."

The Challenge
Intuit QuickBooks’ content amplification team already had a full toolkit: in-house SEO and GEO work, social channels, original research from Intuit’s Data Comms team, and a paid, native-advertising platform for guaranteed placement. Erica Chappell, who leads content amplification for QuickBooks, is tasked with figuring out where and how that content should be further distributed to maximize impact with target audiences.
What the team wanted was more room to run: a way to reach readers outside the audiences its paid and owned channels already covered, and to do it consistently enough to build lasting authority.
The ambition and the content were already there, though, there had to be something else they could bring on to help scale to a level that would help them reach their GEO goals.
The Solution
For QuickBooks, Stacker became a strategic top-of-funnel play, enabling their team to build a far more expansive funnel through earned Stacker network placements than paid placement alone could support.
QuickBooks joined Stacker’s network following two other Intuit brands, TurboTax and Credit Karma. Stacker gave an already-strong content strategy more room to grow. Chappell’s team had been looking for a way to expand the utility and reach of QuickBooks proprietary data and research. Stacker became that channel. The team can now leverage those original insights beyond owned and earned channels.
Linking the two systems took almost no lift. By leveraging Stacker's API, Chappell’s team plugged Stacker’s reporting directly into an off-site dashboard Intuit’s SEO team had already built to track GEO performance across QuickBooks’ markets — no manual exports required.
The Results: 3,920+ Pickups and a 223% Citation Lift
QuickBooks has published 17 stories through Stacker’s network since April 2026, generating 3,920+ pickups and an estimated 272,700 views. Nine of those stories have enough maturity for full GEO tracking.
Across that set...
- Its response presence rate (how often AI tools surface QuickBooks content at all) has averaged 31%, and is consistent with top-performing enterprise Stacker accounts.
- Its citation rate, a stricter measure of how often that content is directly cited rather than just referenced, has grown 223% on average across the nine stories.
- Its share of voice against tracked competitors has averaged 56%, meaning that whenever QuickBooks or a peer product comes up in an AI-generated answer, QuickBooks captures the majority of that visibility. Chappell reported consistently seeing QuickBooks’ share of voice as the largest against competitors.
Combined with QuickBooks’ existing GEO work, Stacker was able to amplify ongoing effort and maximize impact where it mattered most.
That visibility isn’t coming only from QuickBooks’ own domain, either: its content is increasingly surfaced alongside citations from outlets like the IRS, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Forbes, and LinkedIn — exactly the kind of third-party authority signals AI tools weigh heavily when answering financial questions.

*Already the highest response presence rate in the program at baseline, so this story’s presence rate held flat rather than lifting further.
These four stories anchor the strongest documented results among QuickBooks’ nine GEO-tracked stories to date. Its highest-lift story — “7 ways small businesses can support the LGBTQ+ community year-round” — posted the highest share of voice and citation lift in the program, at 79% and 726% respectively, and gave the QuickBooks team a way to peg their data to ongoing news events for further coverage, even though it came from outside the data-led cluster that dominated July.
That data-led cluster told its own story. In July, three stories built from Intuit’s Data Comms research all landed on Stacker’s network-wide leaderboard in the same month — QuickBooks’ strongest month in the program to date.
“All three of the pieces we had were heavily focused with content that the Data Comms team created, and they were our best performing. We had headlines with compelling numbers in them, pulling from the proprietary data that we had collected in order to tell a powerful story.”
- Erica Chappell
That research already carries weight well beyond content marketing. The strongest story developed from Intuit’s Data Comms team, titled, “Report finds more small businesses are carrying overdue invoices than last year,” posted a 62% response presence rate — the highest of any story in the program — along with a 32% citation lift and 52% share of voice in its category.
The pattern holds beyond the four stories detailed above.
Across the 240 prompts Stacker tracks against QuickBooks content, at least one AI platform surfaced a QuickBooks story for 80% of them.
The Impact
Stacker gave the content team’s existing ambitions somewhere to go. The ideas, proprietary research, and appetite for data-driven storytelling were already there — providing a consistent distribution channel meant those stories could go out routinely instead of requiring additional lift from the team.
Stacker’s Content Insights tool, which benchmarks story ideas against network-wide pickup data, has also given the team another way to decide which ideas to prioritize, beyond QuickBook’s own SEO metrics.
Chappell also tracked return on investment closely. Using the contract price and total pickups, she calculated a simple cost-per-pickup figure — about $8 per placement — an easy number to share with leadership.
The consistency of the results made the case even easier: QuickBooks’ most recent stories have landed placement across 100% of the AI platforms Stacker tracks.
Leadership noticed.
"They’re stoked. Now, they want to see more, asking ‘what else are we able to see from Stacker, and how can we reproduce this?"
- Erica Chappell
The answer came quickly.
Intuit expanded their work with Stacker to amplify a brand new product — a decision leadership tied in part to the results Chappell had been sharing.
Looking back, Chappell called the decision to work with Stacker “a no-brainer.”
"The biggest shift is it broadened the horizons as far as what actually works for GEO content, and also allowed for more cross-functional collaboration with teams that wasn’t happening before."
- Erica Chappell
*GEO-related performance metrics are in comparison to their tracked competitive set. Citation Lift measures change from pre-distribution baseline.
