This week's roundup includes roles that fall into two buckets: brand storytellers and AI-powered growth editors.
The first bucket is made up of companies like Starbucks, Walmart, and Express — legacy consumer brands looking for people skilled at building narratives through content strategy. Express is looking for a "strong writer with excellent editorial judgment," who can ensure "clarity, accuracy, consistency, and quality" in the brand's storytelling.
Walmart is seeking a senior manager to "oversee editorial governance, establishing best practices and ensuring compliance with quality and branding standards," and Starbucks needs someone to manage the editorial calendar and develop content strategies, among other things.
The second bucket is made up of roles where successful candidates will actively use AI to drive the brand's content program forward. That includes a role at AI-powered identity verification company Pindrop, which requires candidates to be strong editors and writers while also being able to build a full-scale content operation using GPTs and agents.
Meanwhile, enterprise tech company Cognizant is looking for someone to track tech news and market trends to develop and write thought leadership pieces. It specifically calls out journalism as a desired background. It also wants this editorial expert to be well-versed in AI, ideally with experience building agents and "a strong editorial philosophy for responsible AI integration."
Interestingly, a writer and editor role at Google Research leans more toward the first bucket than the second. The company is specifically looking for someone with experience "managing technology, scientific, or research publications, blogs, or journalistic outlets."
"You will create broad organizational impact by setting the editorial bar, building narrative frameworks, and mentoring other writers for overall narrative consistency across teams and channels," that job listing reads. "You will be equally comfortable defining long-term editorial strategy, ghostwriting high-stakes thought leadership (e.g., keynotes, op-eds etc.) for executives, reviewing and editing your colleagues' work."

How We Built This List
Every week, we pull job postings looking for senior editorial and content-leadership roles: editorial directors, VPs and heads of content, managing editors, storytellers, data journalists, and similar titles. We prioritize those paying $100,000 or more.
