How gas prices have changed in Sebring in the last week

The average cost for a gallon of gasoline is roughly the same this week compared to last and down 12 cents from one month ago, according to AAA data.

GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan is projecting that the national average could fall under $3 per gallon just in time for Thanksgiving travel, when 72% of Americans intend to road trip to their celebration destinations.

Several factors could work against those projections, including escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine and storms in the Gulf of Mexico.

A tropical storm forecast to hit Florida and the Southeastern U.S. this week has hit Central America and could restrengthen to a hurricane as it makes its way across the Gulf, potentially threatening oil and gas infrastructure.
