Worst commutes in every state

Anybody who does not live in close proximity to their place of work will speak too the fact that there is nothing quite as tiring or frustrating as an awful commute. While some people are fortunate enough to walk a few blocks to their office or even work from home, the vast majority of American workers either have to drive, bike, take some form of public transportation, or even take a plane to do their jobs on a daily basis. While a collection of factors can contribute to the depressing nature of one's daily two-way journey, including the lack of space and cleanliness offered by many popular modes of transit, perhaps the most infuriating aspect is the immense amount of valuable time it can suck out of a person's day.

In analyzing the various places around the country whose commutes rob their residents of the most time on a daily basis, Stacker accessed the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey to compile a list of the worst commutes in every single state. Only cities with a population of 10,000 workers 16 and older were considered for this story, and their average commute time is measured in minutes. Read on to discover which city in each state has the hardest time getting to work every morning.
